Shelby's Senior SessionMeet Shelby! Shelby is a senior this year at Pewitt High School. She is very involved in extracurricular activities including, Varsity cheer, National Honor Society, FFA, and she is a part of the heifer show team. Upon graduation, Shelby plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler and major in Communication Sciences and Disorder.
Makeup by Kinley Wilson & hair by Linda Shaddix at Gina’s Salon in Hughes Springs My overall senior photo session experience was nothing short of excellent. Shana was so helpful and very prepared. She is very professional from planning sessions all the way to the reveal. She really loves what she does; therefore, her work is amazing. You can really see the passion captured in every single photo.
My one piece of advice to other seniors would be to not feel stupid while taking pictures. Believe it or not, awkward poses make amazing pictures!!
I brought seven outfits to my session; however, I only had time for six. I would recommend bringing quite a few, just so you have options. You definitely don’t want the majority of your pictures in the same outfits. I can not stress this enough, ACCESSORIZE!! I would advise a senior preparing for their session to definitely talk to the photographer. They can help you decide locations, outfits, accessories, and so many other things that tie into senior pictures. They want to provide you with the best possible photo session.
For senior pictures, I advise girls to look natural with a little bit of glam. In my opinion, I think curled hair looks so cute in pictures! My biggest fear during my photo shoot was that I would look awkward or be fake smiling. Not being able to see myself in “selfie mode,” was definitely scary. My outcome was very impressive though. Shana had me do the best poses and facial expressions.
Thanks for sharing your experience and advice with us, Shelby! And thanks again for choosing Shana C. Carter Photography for your senior portraits!
